Cold sores, sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days.

1.Apply ice pack
Ice pack can help reducing swelling and redness by making the blood vessels constrict. It also numbs the area which reduces the pain.
Apply ice pack or press an ice cube on the cold core (avoid scratching the area) for 5 minutes. Repeat this every half an hour.
